![]() The Nectar Adjustable Bed Frame and mattresses arrive at your doorstep with delivery, but your purchase does not include the setup of the new frame or removal of your old mattress, box spring, or frame. The Nectar adjustable base fits inside standard panel frames, though, which surround the bed and may already have headboards and footboards attached. According to customer service, attaching these components to your base may void your warranty as it could damage the material. Unfortunately, you can’t attach headboards and footboards to Nectar adjustable bases. There are also decorative panel bed frames, which some people use when they don’t want their mattress or box spring visible. A traditional bed frame can also support a mattress, depending on the type of frame, but it isn’t adjustable. In this case, Nectar refers to it as a frame. Nectar uses the words “base” and “frame” interchangeably, but they have separate meanings.Īn adjustable base is the mobile component of the bed that supports the mattress. Saatva offers four king sizes: standard king, California king (four inches longer and narrower than a king), split king, and split California king. If you’d like to see more options for king base sizes, consider Saatva Adjustable Bases. The Nectar split king adjustable bed frame can function as a standard king adjustable frame if you connect both twin XL bases and sync them so they move as one unit. When you purchase your split king bed, Nectar will provide instructions for syncing both sides of the base so they move as one unit. Nectar customer support told our Reviews Team that its split king base could serve as a standard adjustable king base if you opt for one king-sized mattress or connect both twin XL bases together. It offers split king instead, which is the same size but with two independently adjustable twin XL mattresses side by side. Nectar no longer offers a king-size adjustable base. ![]() It’s important to note that comfort in any position varies from person to person, so if you have low back pain and are looking for a solution, test this setting at a Nectar showroom before purchase.
![]() A pixel is just numbers representing a color of a tiny dot location. Digital will make sense when you do think of pixels.įWIW, a digital pixel in an image file does NOT have a size, at least not until it is displayed, and is variable size in different print sizes. Ignoring pixels will never grasp the digital concept. Pixels are all there is in a digital image, and we must think of it that way. But enlarge these enough, and all you will see is the pixels or the individual tiles. Our brain recognizes the reproduced image pattern in those pixels or tiles. And then the pixel that describes a pink color is shown that color, which has the similar effect as a small piece of tile the same shade of pink. Tile and film both capture tiny samples of the actual color, but digital represents the colors with numbers, necessary because numbers can be written into the image file text, but actual colors cannot. The numeric concept may be relatively new today (called digital), but the concept of producing a picture in decorative tile is a few thousand years old. The color of each of millions of tiny dots is so described (a 6000 x 4000 pixel image is a grid of 24 million pixel locations).Ī pixel represents the color of a tiny dot with numbers, but conceptually is not unlike a small piece of colored tile in a mosaic tile picture (awesome). Then each pixel is ONE COLOR described digitally in numbers, representing the color of one tiny dot at its location in the image. The color in that tiny pixel's area was sampled by the camera or scanner sensor. ![]() A pixel is numeric data describing ONE RGB COLOR of one tiny area. The main concept of digital images is that each pixel is just NUMBERS. A pixel is purely numeric data representing some one color, of one tiny dot at its specific location in the image. Pixels are the most basic detail to know about digital imagesĪ digital image is composed entirely of pixels. But don't expect enlarging a printed image or a video screen image to go any further. Enlarging the original film or a straight-out-of-the-camera digital image might show more detail than otherwise seen, but when a digital image reaches the pixel size limit, all it shows is the pixels (as above). But that enlargement is just movie fiction, not at all real life. Specifically, this means 1200x1800 pixels printed at 300 dpi is 4圆 inches on paper.įWIW, some crime movies have shown how greatly enlarging a newspaper picture can reveal new details with clues about who dunnit. The rule of thumb for printing high quality photos is to have 300 pixels for every inch of print dimension (more or less, the 300 dpi need not be precisely exact, but for prints that will be viewed closely or hand-held, best quality is to stay within about 240 to 360 dpi, or 300 dpi). The trick is to have enough pixels for your enlargement size. □ Do realize the original 2502x3127 pixel (7.8 megapixels) image would look great printed 8.3×10.4 inches at 300 dpi, but this 12x size would print 8.3×10.4 feet at 25 dpi. This enlargement might look fuzzy, but actually each pixel is sharp. This example is to show the idea about pixels. The pixels do indicate the "fineness" of the smallest possible digital detail which is a pixel, and a pixel is just a dot of one color). We tend to think of these numbers as the "resolution" of the image, but at full size, it is the digital reproduction resolution of the image from the lens (the lens resolution is the limit). Then cropped to 2502x3127 pixels (4:5, 7.8 megapixels), and then resampled to 400x500 pixels (0.2 megapixels). This was a 4288x2828 (3:2) 12-megapixel Nikon D800 image but in portrait orientation. And there are different methods of compressing the data in the file, JPEG for one example. It is actually rather easy to grasp, if you get started right.Ĭolor images are commonly RGB data (three values per pixel representing Red, Green, Blue), but there are also other ways of encoding the image data, CYMK, grayscale, line art, indexed color (see more detail about bits). The concepts below are instead what you need to know to use digital images properly. This may perhaps be written a little like an argument, refuting the dumb incorrect myths we may have heard about how digital works. To be able to use digital images well, we need this understanding. The answer to virtually any question about image size starts with one of these basics. This page tries to be a quick summary of the digital concepts, about how things work. We just gotta know about pixels, and if any mystery, a very short primer is here: What is a Digital Image Anyway? But the detail is below Seriously, once we accept that pixels actually exist, then all this stuff is rather easy. ![]() Shame is a species of embarrassment we feel because we are being, or could be, reproached by others. Guilt is a genuine feeling of self-reproach experienced because we sense we’ve committed a wrong, and we feel it even if no one else knows what we’ve done it is conscience pain. Note here that “shame” is (in the sense used above) a very different phenomenon than guilt. This won’t surprise readers of The New American, which has published essays such as 2020’s “ Violence, Inc.: A Leftist Enterprise.” The piece quotes, for example, hard-left ex-CNN host Reza Aslan as saying that Donald Trump supporters “must be eradicated from society.”īertrams and Krispenz also “found that individuals high in LWA tended to have high levels of neurotic narcissism, which means they cared strongly about what others thought of them, experienced high levels of shame, and had a strong need for admiration,” PsyPost further relates. ![]() Not surprisingly, the researchers found that someone high in LWA tendencies may “endorse the use of violence to reach their own political goals.” In fact, they wrote at Current Psychology, citing others’ scholarship, some “left-wingers are more likely than right-wingers to endorse harming or even murdering their political opponents.” As for “antihierarchical aggression,” left-wing violence began with the bloody French Revolution (1789) and continues to this day, perpetrated by groups such as Antifa and Black Lives Matter. Of course, leftists’ dogmatism and censorship efforts are notorious, the latter being the reason industrialist Elon Musk bought Twitter. They are “anticonventionalism (i.e., the absolute endorsement of progressive moral values), top-down censorship (i.e., the preference for the use of governmental and institutional authority to suppress any speech that is considered as offensive and intolerant), and antihierarchical aggression (i.e., the motivation to use force and aggression to overthrow established hierarchies),” quotes the two researchers as saying. The phenomenon they studied is called “left-wing authoritarianism” (LWA), and they related its indicators. The study authors, Ann Krispenz, a postdoctoral associate and Alex Bertrams, the head of the Educational Psychology Lab at the University of Bern, published their research in March in the journal Current Psychology. Moreover, the researchers found that authoritarian-minded left-wingers often don’t care a whit about the altruism and “social justice” they trumpet, but instead “use political activism to endorse or exercise violence against others to satisfy their own ego-focused needs.” In fact, a new study informs, Stalin has much psychopathic (and narcissistic) company among leftists, including among today’s variety. Yet the people who help vault such tyrants to power - sometimes pejoratively called “useful idiots” - are well-meaning but naive sorts, right? Perhaps not always. It’s well known that left-wing Soviet leader Joseph Stalin was a psychopath, a dark status that led to his exterminating 20 million human beings. ![]() Consider building up your cards in sequence on the tableau first.Again, this helps to increase your options for your next move. Just like in the play of Freecell Solitaire, this tip always works: ensure you move your aces and deuces (cards with number 2) to the home cells as soon as possible. Before moving cards unto the home cell, make sure that you've evaluated all your options and feel you wouldn't need the card again. Turning up the first card to reveal the next increases your number of possible moves available. For example, you can only place a red-6 on a black-7). (The way to do this can only be in descending order from bottom to top. You could do this by using your free cells or moving the cards from one column to another of alternating color. Top right of the screen is the foundation piles. Top left of the screen is three free cells. Column one has a single card column two has two cards, column three has 3 and so on. On the tableau in Klondike Freecell Solitaire, there are 7 columns, with the cards in the column stacked in a gradient of ascending numbers. So if you're already good at playing Klondike, you may not need the tips. If a card that isn't suitable for play prevents you from making your next move, you could easily move the card into one of the three free cell holders available at the top left of the game screen. The free cells are empty and can always be used as an escape option when cornered. In the Klondike Freecell solitaire, however, three free cells are up for play. Klondike solitaire does not always offer deals that are winnable irrespective of how well you can play.
